Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the CardNexus mobile application and the website at cardnexusapp.com (together, the “Services”). It describes how information is handled when you use the Services or contact us.
Information we handle
The information involved depends on the features you use. It may include:
- Information you provide: for example, details you include when contacting support or submitting feedback.
- App content: card details and collection information you choose to enter or save in the app.
- Camera and scan information: camera input is processed on your device when you choose to scan a card. Scan images are not uploaded to CardNexus or Scryfall.
- Catalog downloads: the app downloads card catalog data from Scryfall. The download connection may expose standard technical information, such as your IP address, to Scryfall or the network providers involved.
If you submit the feedback form, we receive the name you provide (if any), your email address, the selected topic, and your message so we can respond.
Website hosting
The website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages. When you visit it, Cloudflare may process technical connection information, such as your IP address, requested page, browser details, and request time, to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for information about its handling of website traffic.
Feedback form
Feedback form submissions are sent to FormSubmit, which processes the information on our behalf and emails it to support@cardnexusapp.com. FormSubmit states that submissions are retained for 30 days. See the FormSubmit Privacy Policy. Do not include passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in your message.
We keep support messages as needed to respond and maintain a support history. To request deletion of a message from our support records, email support@cardnexusapp.com.
Camera scans and Scryfall
CardNexus requests camera access only when you choose to scan a card. Scanning and card recognition take place on your device; scan images are not transmitted to CardNexus servers, Scryfall, or a separate recognition provider. Camera permission can be changed in your device settings. You can use text search instead of scanning.
CardNexus downloads Magic: The Gathering card catalog data from Scryfall to your device. Card scans, matching, and searches are performed on your device against that downloaded data. CardNexus does not send scan images, search terms, card identifiers, or collection contents to Scryfall.
As with any internet download, Scryfall and network providers may receive standard connection information, such as your device’s IP address and the requested catalog resource. Scryfall operates independently. See the Scryfall Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How information is used
CardNexus downloads card catalog data from Scryfall, then uses that downloaded data on your device for card scanning, matching, and search. Collection entries are stored locally. CardNexus does not send card images, search terms, card identifiers, or collection contents to Scryfall. We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and do not sell personal information.
Storage and service providers
Card scans and collection information are processed or stored locally on your device; CardNexus does not maintain an account or cloud copy of your collection. Scryfall independently provides downloadable Magic: The Gathering card data and imagery. Catalog download requests may expose standard connection information to Scryfall; see its privacy policy and terms for its practices.
Sharing and retention
CardNexus does not sell personal information and does not send scan images, search terms, card identifiers, or collection entries to CardNexus servers or Scryfall. The app downloads catalog data from Scryfall; ordinary connection information may be visible to Scryfall as part of those downloads. We do not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
Scan images are processed on-device and are not retained by CardNexus as scan records. Collection entries remain on your device until you remove them in the app or delete the app and its local data. Feedback form messages are processed and retained as described in the Feedback form section above.
Your choices and rights
Camera use is optional. You can deny or revoke camera access in your device settings and use text search instead. Remove individual cards using the collection controls in the app. To clear all locally stored app data, delete CardNexus from your device. You can also contact support@cardnexusapp.com with privacy questions or requests. Applicable privacy rights vary by location.
Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Security and changes
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We may update this policy as the Services change. When we do, we will revise the effective date on this page.
